Plex on your PlayStation 4, step by step
Plex is the one way to get live IPTV channels on the PlayStation 4. A computer at home runs Plex Media Server and Threadfin, a free bridge that presents your Ultra 8K IPTV playlist as a TV tuner, and the PlayStation 4 shows the channels under Live TV. Expect about half an hour the first time.
- No contract
- 7-day refund
- Login in ~60s

The Plex app is free, but live TV through a tuner needs a Plex Pass, paid to Plex and separate from your IPTV plan. 4K support varies by model and year; if the settings menu offers a 2160p or UHD output, you're covered. Choose a plan, message us on WhatsApp, and expect your login details in about a minute.
Prep, in four lines
- Your M3U playlist link and XMLTV guide link, for Threadfin
- A computer or NAS that stays on, for Plex Media Server and Threadfin
- A Plex account with an active Plex Pass
- A 25 Mbps line handles one 4K stream comfortably; HD needs roughly 10 Mbps per screen
Step by step: Plex on the PlayStation 4
- Order on WhatsApp from the buy page and ask for the M3U version of the login. The playlist and guide links come back in the same chat, usually within a minute.
- On a computer or NAS that stays on, install Plex Media Server and Threadfin, a free tuner bridge, and sign in to Plex with an account that has a Plex Pass.
- Download Plex from the PlayStation Store and open it from the media home screen. Sign in with the same Plex account.
- In the Threadfin dashboard, add your M3U link and XMLTV guide link, set the tuner count to the number of screens on your plan, and map the channels you want.
- In Plex Media Server, open Settings > Live TV & DVR, choose Set up Plex DVR, select Threadfin as the tuner (type its address if Plex does not find it), and match the guide.
- Open Plex on the PlayStation 4, choose Live TV and pick a channel from the guide.
After you sign in
Plex takes a few minutes to scan the tuner and match the guide. After that, Live TV appears in the Plex app on the PlayStation 4, with a guide grid by channel number.
Troubleshooting
- Plex finds no tuner: type the Threadfin address by hand in the DVR setup, and check that the computer running it is awake.
- A channel won't tune: another stream may be using the last tuner; stop it, or raise the tuner count in Threadfin up to your plan's screens.
- Channels missing: map them in Threadfin, then rescan channels in the Plex DVR settings.
- No guide data: refresh the XMLTV source in Threadfin, then refresh the guide in Plex.
Settings that help on the PlayStation 4
- Close games completely before streaming to free memory.
- Use the console Ethernet port.
- A streaming stick on the next HDMI input is the long-term fix.
- Tuner count: set it in Threadfin to the number of screens on your plan, so Plex never opens more streams than the login allows.
