Setup guide
Kodi on your Fire TV Cube, step by step
Short version: install Kodi, sign in with your Ultra 8K IPTV details, and let it load. The steps below cover the parts specific to the Fire TV Cube, from where to find the app to the settings that keep 4K feeds smooth.
- No contract
- 7-day refund
- Login in ~60s

Kodi is free to download. The Fire TV Cube decodes 4K, so 4K feeds play at full resolution on a 4K screen. You pay once for the plan length you choose; nothing renews on its own, and you have 7 days to ask for a refund.
Have these ready
- Your M3U playlist link and XMLTV guide link
- Developer options visible on the Fire TV (About > select the device name seven times)
- Budget 10 Mbps per HD screen and 25 Mbps per 4K screen, then add headroom for everyone else online
- A faster way to type: the Fire TV app on your phone has a keyboard
The setup, in order
- Pick a plan length, send the order on WhatsApp, and keep the reply open: it holds the server URL, username and password.
- On the Fire TV Cube, open Settings > My Fire TV > About and select the device name seven times. Developer options appears in the menu; you need it only if Kodi has to come through Downloader.
- Search for Kodi from the Fire TV home screen. If the Amazon Appstore doesn't list it, install the free Downloader app, allow it to install unknown apps, and enter the download address published by the Kodi developer.
- In Kodi, open Add-ons > Install from repository > PVR clients, install PVR IPTV Simple Client, then paste the M3U playlist URL and the XMLTV guide URL into its settings and restart Kodi.
- Wait for the first load to finish, open a channel to test it, and star the ones you watch most.
Tune it for the Fire TV Cube
- Use the Ethernet port if your box has one.
- Leave the box on standby rather than unplugging it, so the guide stays fresh.
- Turn on frame-rate matching in the box's display settings so 60fps sports don't judder.
- Guide refresh: set the EPG update interval in the Simple Client settings so listings never run dry.
The first time you open it
Kodi asks to restart after you configure the Simple Client. Channels then appear under TV in the main menu, and the guide grid fills in after the first EPG download.
Common problems and fixes
- No channels under TV: open the Simple Client settings, confirm the M3U URL is saved, and restart Kodi.
- Buffering on sports only: run a speed test on the Fire TV Cube. Below about 25 Mbps, use the HD version of the channel.
- Channels but no guide: refresh the EPG in Kodi's settings, or give it a few minutes after the first sign-in.
- Kodi closes on its own: clear its cache, restart the Fire TV Cube, and reinstall if it keeps happening.
