Setup guide
Get Virginia Player running on your LG Smart TV
Virginia Player runs on LG webOS, which makes it a natural fit for the LG Smart TV. Setup is install, sign in, wait for the list: about five minutes from start to your first channel with an Ultra 8K IPTV login.
- No contract
- 7-day refund
- Login in ~60s

Virginia Player is a paid app; its activation fee goes to the developer, separately from your IPTV plan. Whether it plays 4K depends on the model, so check the spec sheet before choosing 4K feeds. You pay once for the plan length you choose; nothing renews on its own, and you have 7 days to ask for a refund.
Prep, in four lines
- Virginia Player's MAC address and device key, which it shows on its start screen
- LG TV software updated, so the Content Store shows current apps
- Plan on about 10 Mbps for each HD stream and 25 Mbps for each 4K stream
- A faster way to type: the Magic Remote pointer, or a USB keyboard
The setup, in order
- Choose a plan on the pricing page and order on WhatsApp; your server URL, username and password arrive in about 60 seconds.
- Open the LG Content Store (labeled Apps on recent webOS versions), search for Virginia Player and install it.
- Open Virginia Player on the TV and write down the MAC address and device key it shows on the start screen.
- On the Virginia Player website, enter that MAC and device key, add your playlist (M3U link or Xtream details), then restart the app on the TV.
- Let Virginia Player download the channel list and guide (a minute or two the first time), then add your regular channels to favorites.
After you sign in
After you add the playlist online and restart Virginia Player, the TV shows your playlist name and starts loading channels. The first load on TV hardware can take a couple of minutes; after that, live TV, movies and series open from the home screen.
Tune it for the LG Smart TV
- Install TV software updates; the app store serves builds matched to your firmware.
- Turn off motion smoothing if faces look plastic; leave it on for sports if you like the effect.
- Switch the picture mode to Standard or Sports for live games; Vivid looks harsh on compressed feeds.
- Playlist name: give it a clear name on the website so you can tell playlists apart.
If Virginia Player won't cooperate
- Playlist missing after you added it online: confirm the MAC on the website matches the one on screen, then restart Virginia Player.
- Guide off by an hour or more: check the LG Smart TV's time zone first, then the EPG offset in Virginia Player.
- Channels but no guide: refresh the EPG in Virginia Player's settings, or give it a few minutes after the first sign-in.
- Picture but no sound: set the LG Smart TV's audio output to stereo or PCM; some soundbars refuse surround passthrough from IPTV feeds.
