How to Update TiviMate on NVIDIA Shield: Every Step

The safe way to install
Android TV and Google TV devices have Google Play built in, which is where to look for TiviMate. If Play doesn't carry it, install Downloader from Play, allow it under Settings > Apps > Security & restrictions > Unknown sources, and enter the developer's official link.
The steps
- Open Google Play. Search Google Play for TiviMate with the remote or the voice button.
- Install it. Choose Install and wait for the download to finish.
- Sideload if needed. If Play doesn't list it, install Downloader, allow Unknown sources for it, and use the developer's official link.
- Open and allow storage. Launch the app and accept the storage permission it asks for, which it needs for the guide.
- Sign in. Open TiviMate and add your login: the Xtream Codes details or the M3U link from your WhatsApp message.
Keeping the app up to date
Apps installed from a store update themselves, or from the store’s update list. A sideloaded app has to be updated the same way it was installed: download the new version from the developer’s official address and install it over the old one, which keeps your settings. The developer’s site lists the current version, so compare it with the version number in the app’s settings.
Sources to avoid
- Use the official store or the developer’s own site; skip re-uploads and file-sharing links.
- Avoid “premium unlocked” or “modded” builds, the most common way malware reaches streaming sticks.
- Switch “Install unknown apps” back off for Downloader once you are done.
